Explore Gobustan and the Absheron Peninsula
We will commence our adventure with a pickup at the Baku City Tour's Office at the arranged time, setting off towards the Absheron Peninsula. Our initial stop will take you to the location of the city’s inaugural oil well, drilled back in 1871.
Next, we will pass the renowned Bibi-Heybat mosque before arriving at Gobustan National Park. Here, you will be able to admire over 6,000 petroglyphs that date from the Upper Palaeolithic to the Middle Ages. An exciting highlight will be boarding an old Soviet cab to approach the famous mud volcanoes, which are recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
After taking in the unique geological formations, we will proceed towards the outskirts of Baku for a buffet lunch around 1 pm.
Our final destination will be the Absheron Peninsula, where we will witness the Yanar Dag fire mountain and visit the enchanting Temple of Fire. During this visit, you’ll gain insights into Zoroastrianism, the captivating ancient religion that originated in this region.
The tour will conclude back at the meeting point in Baku after approximately 7.5 hours.
