Tour Overview
Day 1
We'll convene at the Isla Fantasía pier on the Malecón of Leticia at the scheduled hour and board a speedboat bound for Puerto Nariño. During a 2-hour cruise along the Amazon River, take in the remarkable biodiversity that surrounds us.
Upon arrival in Puerto Nariño, we will embark on a guided exploration of this village, home to numerous indigenous communities. Here, we will gain insights into the Ticuna, Cocama, and Yagua tribes. As night falls, we will prepare for a guided nocturnal adventure through thePuerto Nariño jungles, revealing the exotic insects and amphibians that thrive in the area.
Concluding the day, we will head back to our lodging for a restful night.
Day 2
The morning will begin with a hearty breakfast followed by a visit to Maloka Tikuna. Here, you'll engage with local families to learn about their traditional rites and customs. In addition, a workshop on local games and natural paints awaits you for a hands-on cultural experience.
After enjoying a traditional lunch, we will embark on a boat journey along theLoretoyacu River. During this scenic trip, we will discuss the local wildlife, including crocodiles, piranhas, and river dolphins. As the day comes to a close, we’ll take time to appreciate a stunning sunset over the river and observe the black caimans that populate the region. After dinner, we will return to our accommodation for the evening.
Day 3
Our third day will commence with breathtaking vistas of the Lake Tarapoto wetlands. Enjoy breakfast before we make our way back to Puerto Nariño, traversing the jungle on wooden path bridges.
Following roughly 3 hours of travel, we will arrive at the indigenous community of San Martin de Amacayacu, greeted warmly by a local family. After lunch, we will immerse ourselves in the community’s lifestyle, exploring their trades and language.
We will spend the night at a local accommodation.
Day 4
After breakfast, we will set off on a canoe ride into the Amacayacu National Park en route to Mocagua. While in this southern Colombian indigenous community, more of the rich traditions and customs of Amazonian tribes will unfold.
Following lunch, we'll visit the Mocagua monkey sanctuary, home to primates rescued from illegal wildlife trade, where you'll have the opportunity to interact with and feed these delightful creatures.
At the day’s end, we will return to our accommodation in Puerto Nariño for the night.
Day 5
On the final day of the tour, we will return to Leticia. Following breakfast at our accommodation in Mocagua, we will depart at 7 am.
After a journey of 90 minutes, we will conclude our experience back at the original meeting location, where we’ll bid farewell.
