El Chaltén & Mirador Cóndores Day Trip
At the arranged time, we will collect you from your accommodation in El Calafate and embark on the renowned Route 40. This scenic route showcases the extraordinary Patagonian terrain, winding around the glistening Lake Argentino and traversing the scenic Santa Cruz and La Leona rivers.
Following a short break to stretch by La Leona, we will resume our journey along Route 40, passing the picturesque Lake Viedma with the majestic Andes Mountains serving as a backdrop. Our road trip culminates in the renowned mountain settlement of El Chaltén, where we will visit the Interpretation Centre. From this point, we will commence a delightful, gentle hike lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.
Upon reaching the endpoint of our trail, the celebrated Mirador de los Cóndores viewpoint greets us, offering an impressive view of Cerro Torre and Mount Fitz Roy. This vantage point presents magnificent sights of the surrounding glacial landscapes.
After capturing photographs, we will retrace our steps to El Chaltén, where a tasty lunch at a local restaurant awaits. The meal includes a main dish paired with a non-alcoholic beverage, such as sparkling or mineral water. Subsequently, we will embark on a 30-minute hike to the charming Chorrillo del Salto waterfall. Don’t forget to bring your camera to document the beauty of these enchanting cascades!
Following our visit to the waterfall, we will walk back to El Chaltén, allowing you an hour of free time to explore the town independently. We will then regroup to return to El Calafate, with an anticipated arrival at your hotel between 8 and 9 pm.
