We will convene at the designated time next to the sculpture of Eleftherios Venizelos on Egnatia Street. From there, we will board our minibus and depart Thessaloniki to commence our adventure to Pella and Vergina.
Following a scenic 45-minute drive, our first stop will be Pella, recognized as the birthplace of Alexander the Great. This location served as the capital of Macedonia during the 5th and 4th centuries BC and now boasts a remarkable archaeological site that awaits our exploration. We will delve into the past, discovering the lives of significant historical figures like Aristotle, Euripides, Philip II, and Alexander the Great.
Our expedition will include a visit to the museum on-site, where we will examine numerous artifacts discovered in the vicinity. The collection features everyday objects used by the ancient city's residents and stunning mosaic floors from the "house of Dionysus" and the "house of Helena".
Next, our journey will lead us to Vergina. Here, we will pause in front of the Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai, home to the tomb of King Philip II of Macedon.
After experiencing this UNESCO World Heritage site, we will proceed to a nearby restaurant to savor a Greek lunch at your own cost. Finally, we will return to Thessaloniki.
After a comprehensive 13-hour excursion, we will conclude our day back at the starting location.
