Your adventure begins at 8:30 am with a pick-up from your accommodation in Loja, followed by a journey in a comfortable minibus around this picturesque city. The first destination on our itinerary will be the extraordinary Podocarpus National Park, a true natural treasure nestled in Ecuador.
Upon arriving at this stunning park, immerse yourself in the rich biodiversity and familiarize yourself with the indigenous flora while traversing the Bear Route. As we hike through this enchanting reserve, you will encounter majestic waterfalls, mesmerizing valleys, scenic viewpoints, and an array of unique plant species. Don’t forget to capture these moments on your camera!
Next, we’ll make our way to Vilcabamba, a notable parish in Loja famously known as the Valley of Longevity. It is said that the locals here are among the longest-living people on the planet! Strolling through this "city of eternal youth," you will discover key attractions concentrated around the Plaza de la Iglesia.
On our return trip to Loja, we will have a brief pause in Malacatos, a town celebrated for its coffee and sugar cane production, distinguished by its beautiful blue and white church. After a leisurely walk through this quaint area, we will climb back aboard the minibus and proceed back to Loja, arriving around 2:30 pm.
