Our adventure begins at Ala-Too Square, recognized as one of the most significant locations in Bishkek. Once everyone has gathered, we'll set off on a journey through time in this historical capital city.
Ala-Too Square was established to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic. Are you aware of any alternative names for this iconic site? We'll share that with you!
As we pass by the Manas Monument, a tribute to Kyrgyzstan's national hero, there’s a chance for us to see the changing of the guard. Afterwards, we will stroll towards the Parliament, the Government House, and the State History Museum.
The tour will then lead us to Panfilov Park, home to a monument honoring the Russian general Panfilov. Close by, you can also view the statue of Lenin and the renowned Soviet-era mosaics. We’ll continue to meander through Bishkek’s streets, taking in the vibrant urban art displayed across various buildings.
Next, we will pause at Victory Square, where you'll learn about the significance behind its name. This area also features the Abdylas Maldybaev Opera and Ballet Theatre. Other noteworthy sites on our journey include the Kurmanjan Datka Monument, Chuy Avenue, and Erkindik Boulevard.
As we approach the conclusion of our tour, the next stop will be Revolution Square, where the Imam Sarakhsi Central Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Central Asia, stands. To cap off our experience, we’ll indulge in a sampling of a traditional Kyrgyznational beverage.
We will conclude our 3-hour tour by returning to the original meeting point.
