Walking Tour of Alicante

The adventure begins at Alicante Town Hall Square at the designated meeting time. From this point, we will embark on a journey through the historic heart of the city.

Starting with the stunning baroque exterior of a 16th-century architectural gem, we’ll then step inside the town hall to appreciate its interior. Our path will lead us along the vibrant Explanada de España, a popular thoroughfare known for its unique construction over a dyke.

Next, we will visit the lively Portal de Elche central square and the nearby Gabriel Miró square, honoring one of the city’s prominent figures. We will also explore San Francisco Street, where whimsical mushroom sculptures and playful figures known as rayuelas can be found.

Our tour will proceed to the iconic Teatro Principal, a neoclassical edifice established by two noble families along with local merchants during the mid-19th century. Additionally, we will discuss the significance of one of the city's key festivities at the Fogueres Museum.

We'll pause at the lavish Salvetti Palace, now transformed into a hotel, to delve into its fascinating past. Following that, our route takes us to the Hogueras Museum, providing insight into the co-cathedral of San Nicolás de Bari, built where an ancient mosque once stood, along with the convent of the Precious Blood of Christ. Other notable sites include the Ferrisa Gate and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante.

After a thorough exploration lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, our enlightening journey will conclude at the majestic Basilica of Santa Maria.

Group Size

This walking tour accommodates a maximum of six participants per group, regardless of whether bookings are made individually. For larger parties, we suggest considering a private tour of Alicante.
