If you have an interest in modern history, the tour exploring the Third Reich and Dachau Concentration Camp offers a profound insight into one of the most tragic eras in German history.

Third Reich and Dachau Concentration Camp Tour

We will convene at the Munich Central Train Station, where our journey into the history of Germany's Third Reich and the chilling Dachau Concentration Camp begins. Throughout this experience, we will uncover the pivotal locations that played a crucial role in Adolf Hitler's ascent and the inception of Nazism across Germany and Europe.

During our walk through Munich's Old Town, noteworthy landmarks such as the site where Hitler affiliated with the Nazi Party and the former Gestapo headquarters will be highlighted. We will also visit the location of the Beer Hall Putsch of 1923, a significant event in this dark history.

After spending approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes discovering Munich, you’ll have an hour of free time for personal exploration before heading to Königsplatz. Here, we will board a train, which will take around 30 minutes to reach the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.

Upon arrival, a comprehensive 5-hour tour of the camp and museum awaits. Established as the first concentration camp by the Nazis in Germany during the Holocaust, Dachau later served as a prototype for subsequent camps.

As we delve into this harrowing period, we will encounter photographs, documents, reconstructed barracks, the crematorium, and administrative offices. The tour will reveal many lesser-known narratives and details regarding figures associated with this grim location, including Heinrich Himmler, the camp’s founding guard.

Finally, we will return to Munich via train, concluding our somber exploration with a farewell.
