Discover the stunning architectural highlights of Holland as you embark on a journey through Rotterdam, complemented by an exhilarating watertaxi ride during this engaging guided experience!
Description
Join us at Rotterdam Central Station and kick off an insightful walking exploration of the vibrant heart of Rotterdam!
Your journey begins at Lijnbaan, the principal street in the city, leading us to the impressive Timmerhuis, a landmark complex crafted by the esteemed OMA architecture firm.
Continuing our trek, we will pass the striking San Lorenzo Church before arriving at the Markthal, a contemporary architectural marvel that houses a bustling market. Inside, be sure to look up at the vibrant "Horn of Plenty" mural that adorns the ceiling, adding a splash of color and creativity to the space.
Adjacent to the Markthal are the famed Cube Houses (Kubuswoning), whose unique design offers a fascinating look at innovative residential architecture. After exploring these iconic structures, we will proceed to a nearby pier to board a swift water taxi, which will take us across the Meuse River in just two minutes!
During this brief but scenic crossing, you'll glide beneath the distinguished Erasmusbrug Bridge, soaking in magnificent views of landmarks like the De Rotterdam building, the New York Hotel, and the headquarters of the Fenix Food Factory. The tour concludes here around 1 pm.
