Upon arrival at Villa El Salvador, one of the most populous districts in Lima, you will encounter a diverse mix of ethnic groups including Quechua, Aymara, Amazonian peoples, and Afro-Peruvians.
The area's significant population density contributes to its status as one of the districts with the lowest income levels, prompting the Peruvian government to initiate various projects designed to enhance the social and economic landscape of Villa El Salvador. Throughout our visit, we will delve into these initiatives!
Following this, we will proceed to a local restaurant managed by a community member, known for providing affordable meals for the neighborhood's working-class inhabitants. We’ll also take the time to appreciate the vibrant street art decorating the exteriors of many homes.
Our next stop will be the Wood and Home Furnishings Center, a valuable project that showcases handcrafted items available at reasonable prices for families of limited means.
You will then explore a traditional craft shop, where you can admire their decorative crafts – an ideal spot to pick up a meaningful memento from your Villa El Salvador experience!
As the tour concludes, we’ll make our way back to your hotel, allowing you to take in the stunning views of the Lurin Valley and the picturesque Pacific Ocean from the bus.
