Details of the Day Trip
At dawn, we will meet you at your accommodation in Florianópolis and embark on an adventure to two of Brazil's most captivating locations. After a scenic 2-hour drive along the coastline, we will enter Santa Catarina state and arrive at our first stop, Blumenau, acclaimed as the beer capital of Brazil.
Upon arrival, we will take a leisurely walk alongside the Itajaí-Açú River, taking in the unique architecture that evokes the charm of a traditional German village. This ambiance can be attributed to the influence of the German settlers who made this area their home, aiming to replicate the customs and traditions of their native land.
Next, our itinerary includes a visit to the Beer Garden, reminiscent of the classic German biergarten, as well as the notable Blumenau City Hall and the Metropolitan Cathedral. We will also explore Vila Germânica Park, a place where German culture is omnipresent. Here, you’ll have the opportunity for lunch, choosing between traditional Brazilian dishes or authentic German fare, according to your preference.
Following our time in Blumenau, we will proceed to the nearby township of Pomerode, recognized as Brazil's most German town, similar to Blumenau, yet distinguished by its remarkable selection of North German architecture.
During our visit, we will admire the iconic buildings that showcase this architectural style, including the Portal de Pomerode, Schmidt Porcelain Factory, Zoo, and Vila Encantada. You will also have some free time to explore a local craft brewery in Pomerode and partake in a delightful beer tasting!
At the conclusion of our exploration in Pomerode, we will return to Florianópolis, providing convenient drop-off at your hotel.
