At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Akureyri. Traveling in a 4x4 vehicle, we will make our way toward the Tröllaskagi peninsula. As we navigate through Iceland’s northernmost regions, prepare to be awestruck by the breathtaking Arctic coastline, the striking Eyjafjörður fjord, alongside spectacular rivers and deep valleys.
We will share insights on how these dramatic landscapes formed during the Ice Age as you take in the majestic mountains and pass through quaint villages such as Ólafsfjörður and Dalvík. A stop at one of the distinctive black sand beaches will certainly be a highlight of the journey.
Your Arctic coastal adventure will lead us to Siglufjörður, a picturesque seaside village known as the filming location for the TV series 'Trapped'. This village is often recognized as one of the most picturesque on the Tröllaskagi peninsula.
Feel free to wander through this village, characterized by its wooden structures and a fascinating history closely tied to herring fishing. We will unveil the stories behind the rise and fall during the golden age of this vibrant area.
Following our visit to Siglufjörður, we will proceed to Hauganés. This village allows a glimpse into a world that seems to have remained unchanged over the centuries, where you can stroll amongst charming small houses and notice the sparse local populace. Here, we’ll take you to a black sand bay, where you can enjoy a refreshing soak in the hot tubs located on the beach, with waters warmed by geothermal energy.
Before we return to Akureyri, we will savor a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Hauganés, giving you a chance to recharge.
After six hours of this unforgettable journey, we will conclude the tour and return you to your hotel.
