At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Bacalar and proceed to visit the ancient Mayan settlements located in the Mexican jungle of Quintana Roo.
First, we will visit the archaeological site of Dzibanché, an important Mayan city believed to date back to 200 BC. The site features various temples and is surrounded by a lush jungle environment. Wildlife sightings may include howler monkeys and various exotic birds.
Next, we will travel to the archaeological site of Kohunlich, a Mayan ceremonial center with several architectural complexes. We will walk through the acropolis to reach the Temple of the Masks, which features 5 figures that represent aspects of Mayan ceremonial life. Additionally, we will observe the Temple of the 27 Steps and other significant sites.
Before returning to Bacalar, we will stop at a jungle restaurant for a meal that includes a main course, starter, dessert, and drink.
