In this ceramics class, participants will have the opportunity to craft and embellish traditional pottery typical of Cappadocia while immersing themselves in Turkish culture in an engaging manner.
Ceramics Experience in Cappadocia
At the predetermined time, we will gather at the designated ceramics studio.
For ages, pottery has held a significant place in the cultural heritage of this area. Remarkably, the origins of this art form can be traced back to 2000 BC.
We will explore the significance of Turkish ceramics before pausing to appreciate some stunning vistas of the Cappadocia landscape!
Following that, we’ll proceed to a ceramic studio, where a skilled artisan will first demonstrate the crafting of a clay item using time-honored techniques.
Subsequently, you will engage in this same technique and create your personalized ceramic piece, applying your own artistic touch. Enjoy crafting with the clay and managing the potter's wheel to shape plates, pots, and various other items! This initial encounter with the clay will last approximately 15 minutes.
The entire workshop will conclude after a total duration of 30 minutes.
