After a scenic drive of about an hour, we will reach Matera, a city designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for emerging from its storied past and flourishing as one of Italy's prime tourist attractions.
Our exploration will take us to a cave house, one of the town's key highlights, known for its unique cave city structure and an old town intricately formed into the rock.
To conclude our visit to Matera, we’ll enjoy a stroll through the fruit and vegetable market, offering a taste of the famous truffles and a chance to dive into the flavors of local cuisine. After this pause, you will have between 1 and 2 hours of free time to wander through Matera at your leisure before we make our return.
Finally, we will reconvene and journey back to Bari, arriving at the departure point approximately 6 hours later.
