Upon your reservation, you can select from a variety of scuba diving excursions available in Mahahual. Each tour includes boat transport, a certified instructor fluent in English, diving gear, refreshments, and water. Below are the specific details for each choice.
Single Dive Experience (2 hours)
The adventure begins at the diving center situated at Blue Kay in Mahahual at the designated time, where you'll need to present your scuba diving licenses. Once verified, we will proceed to the boat for a journey to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, recognized as the second largest globally.
After garnering all necessary instructions and donning our diving equipment, we will embark on our boat and navigate the barrier reef of Costa Maya. Within this breathtaking locale, we’ll have the chance to explore up to 6 different underwater vistas.
When prepared, we’ll dive in groups of five with the guidance of our instructor. The clear waters offer exceptional visibility reaching 25 meters (82 feet) and, at times, extending to 35 meters (114 feet). What else could enhance this experience?
Double Dive Experience (3 hours & 50 minutes)
If you’re seeking a more thrilling diving adventure, consider opting for this package with two dives. This allows us to stay longer in the water and interact with the lively tropical fish found among the coral reefs.
We will board the boat and navigate along the same route mentioned previously, yet this time, we’ll have an opportunity for a closer examination of the rich marine life and vegetation. With visibility reaching up to 35 meters (114 feet), expect to encounter manta rays, crabs, lobsters, barracudas, angelfish, wrasse, damselfish, parrotfish, and butterflyfish. Delightful names, wouldn’t you agree? You will soon discover their charm!
After we exhaust the first tank of oxygen, we’ll return to the boat to swap in the second tank. Once equipped again, we’ll descend for our second dive at Costa Maya to fully savor the underwater wonders.
