Tour Details
On the scheduled day, we will pick you up from your hotel in Austin at the specified time, setting off towards San Antonio. The approximately 1 hour and 15-minute drive allows us to preview the highlights that await us in this vibrant River City.
Upon arriving in San Antonio, our first destination will be the iconic Alamo. A guided tour through this landmark will lead us through the courtyard, where we’ll learn about the 1836 Battle of the Alamo. We will have the opportunity to closely examine significant weapons and fortifications, including the notable 16-pounder cannon and the barracks. Following this, a leisurely stroll through the scenic gardens, shaded by ancient oak trees, will complete our visit.
Next, we’ll visit the Spanish Missions of San Antonio, starting with Mission San Jose. Recognized as the largest and most frequently visited of the four southernmost Spanish Colonial Missions, it is often heralded as the “Queen of the Missions,” a title that we will soon understand.
We will then ascend the Tower of the Americas, taking an elevator ride up to 190 m (623 ft) for breathtaking views. At the Observation Deck, we’ll be treated to spectacular panoramic vistas of the city.
The tour continues as we meander past the iconic River Walk, a celebrated 15-mile (24 km) urban waterway, where we will embark on a soothing 35-minute cruise. Experience the enchanting ambiance of this serpentine urban river aboard a silent, electric, and colorful boat, while soaking in the picturesque architecture, vibrant culture, and music that surrounds us.
After a memorable 7-hour adventure, we will return to your hotel. Until next time!
