Swiss Travel Pass Duration

The Swiss Travel Pass becomes effective from midnight on the start date. For instance, a 4-day pass that begins on July 24th is valid until 5 am on July 28th. Furthermore, the pass remains valid after the last day through the following morning if traveling overnight, but the journey should conclude prior to 5 am and cannot extend beyond this.

This pass can be purchased for 3, 4, 6, 8, or 15 consecutive days.

How to Utilize It

Using the Swiss Travel Pass is straightforward. Once your reservation is confirmed, you'll receive a confirmation email featuring a QR code, which you can either print or keep on your mobile device.

This lets you bypass queues at ticket offices in train, bus, or boat stations, allowing you to securely board any of these public transport services. If ticket inspectors request your pass, simply present the QR code in its printed form or on your device. It's that simple!

For cable cars, funiculars, and mountain trains where discounted pricing is applicable, you will need to show your QR code at the ticket counters to receive the special fare.

At museums included in the pass, present your QR code at the ticket office for complimentary entry.

Do note that the museum and mountain train passes are valid solely for the selected travel days.

Swiss Travel Pass Flex

Opting for the Flex version means your pass will be available for 3, 4, 6, 8, or 15 non-contiguous days within a month. Thus, the Swiss Travel Pass Flex offers greater flexibility in planning your travel days.

Note! The museum access included with the Swiss Travel Pass Flex is valid exclusively on the chosen travel days. The same rule applies to mountain activities: discounts of up to 50% are accessible only on specific travel dates, not throughout the month.

Keep in mind, unlike the standard Swiss Travel Pass, the Swiss Travel Pass Flex requires activation before your travel. Clear instructions will be provided for this activation in your booking confirmation.
