Our cycling journey will commence alongside the Sassi di Matera, allowing us to experience one of the city’s most iconic vistas. It is essential to note that this is primarily a scenic bike ride and not a guided walking exploration of the Sassi.
Following this, we will venture out of the urban area into the picturesque Matera countryside, pedaling through serene hills, agricultural fields, and tranquil rural scenery on gentle, unpaved paths.
During the concluding phase of our journey, we will ascend towards Murgecchia, reaching a viewpoint that overlooks the Gravina. Here, you can admire the Sassi from the opposite side of the canyon, providing an excellent photo opportunity. At this viewpoint, we will also enjoy some delicious local focaccia.
Eventually, we will mount our electric bikes once more and make our way back to the starting point, wrapping up this enjoyable 3-hour experience.
