Day Trip Details
Our adventure begins at the scheduled time when we set off from the Sihlquai bus parking lot in Zurich, moving southward.
Initially, we will traverse the picturesque landscape surrounding Lake Zurich until we arrive at Rapperswil, a charming medieval town nestled in the Canton of St. Gallen, beautifully positioned along the lake's edge. Upon reaching this town, affectionately nicknamed “the city of roses”, we will embark on a brief guided tour of its historical center, highlighted by its impressive castle.
After our exploration of Rapperswil, you will enjoy approximately 1 hour of free time for lunch in the town's historic core. Following this break, our journey continues to Einsiedeln, an important pilgrimage center in Switzerland revered for its dedication to the Virgin Mary.
While in Einsiedeln, we will visit the Benedictine monastery, an exquisite baroque structure featuring four cloisters. Here, we will come face to face with the Black Madonna, a 15th-century masterpiece housed within the monastery chapel.
After our church visit, we will proceed to the Milchmanufaktur dairy factory, where a welcome drink awaits, followed by a sumptuous Swiss cheese tasting.
Once we conclude the cheese tasting experience, we will journey to Kilchberg, home to the Lindt Home of Chocolate. You will have the opportunity to explore this famous museum at your own pace, equipped with an audio guide in English to unveil the various exhibits.
