The glacier reaches a height of 60 m, periodically shedding massive ice walls into the waters of Brazo Rico or the Canal de los Témpanos. As it advances toward the Magallanes Peninsula, it can divide the lake, causing the water level of Brazo Rico to rise approximately 35 m. Over 4 to 6 years, a tunnel forms in the glacier leading to dramatic collapses, creating gigantic waves.Nocturnal Experience
An evening experience to view the Perito Moreno Glacier under the moonlight is available during full moon nights in the 2025-26 period, authorized by National Parks.Itinerary
