Day Trip Overview
The adventure begins at 7:45 am, where we will gather outside of the Las Ventas metro station in Madrid. We'll board a bus bound for Toledo and Segovia, learning about their recognition as UNESCO World Heritage Sites!
Our first destination is Toledo, often referred to as the "City of Three Cultures" due to its rich historical connections with three major religions that have coexisted for centuries.
As we stroll through Toledo's ancient alleys, squares, and parks, you'll experience its rich architectural and artistic legacy. Key highlights include the Cathedral of Toledo, a prime example of Spanish Gothic artistry, and the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, chosen by the Catholic Monarchs as their burial site. Before heading to Segovia, we’ll pause for breathtaking views of the city from San Martín Bridge and the Mirador del Valle viewpoint.
Next, we venture to Segovia, where the incredible Aqueduct stands out as one of the best-preserved Roman monuments on the Iberian Peninsula. We will visit the Cathedral of Segovia, affectionately known as the "Lady of the Cathedrals" due to its stunning Gothic and Renaissance architecture.
We’ll then meander through the Canonjías neighborhood, arriving at the iconic Alcázar, a highly visited historical site in Spain, which offers views of the remnants of the Medieval walls that used to encircle Segovia.
After a fulfilling day of exploration, we will return to Madrid, concluding our tour after approximately 11 hours.
