Access to The Jewish Museum and The Portuguese Synagogue

This selection is ideal for those wishing to uncover the community's art, traditions, and architectural heritage. It includes entry to:

• Jewish Museum (Joods Museum + junior): situated within four historic Ashkenazi synagogues, this museum features over 300,000 art pieces and historical documents. Discover works from artists like Charlotte Salomon and engage in an excellent interactive area for younger visitors.
• Portuguese Synagogue: a magnificent 17th-century structure inspired by Jerusalem’s Temple of Solomon. Marvel at its grand stone columns, wooden ceilings, and ornate chandeliers, while noting that it is also home to one of the world's oldest Jewish libraries.

• Jewish Museum
• Portuguese Synagogue
• National Holocaust Museum: Located in a former school that served as a deportation center during the Nazi regime, this museum features photographs, artifacts, clothing, and interactive displays that illustrate the life of Dutch Jews under persecution.
• Hollandsche Schouwburg: Once a theatre used for detaining Jews before their deportation, this site now serves as a memorial, exhibiting photographs and documents that commemorate the experiences of those who endured the Holocaust.

Portuguese Synagogue

• January and December: Sunday to Thursday, 10 am to 4 pm; Friday, 10 am to 2 pm
• February: Sunday to Thursday, 10 am to 5 pm; Friday, 10 am to 2 pm
• March and April: Sunday to Thursday, 10 am to 5 pm; Friday, 10 am to 4 pm
• May through August: Sunday to Friday, 11 am to 5 pm
• September and October: Sunday to Thursday, 11 am to 5 pm; Friday, 11 am to 4 pm
• November: Sunday to Thursday, 11 am to 5 pm; Friday, 11 am to 2 pm
• Closed on Saturdays

National Holocaust Museum and Hollandsche Schouwburg

Open every day from 11 am to 5 pm, except for:

• Closed on Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah, and King’s Day
• January 1: opening at 12 pm

Admission for Children under 5

Children below the age of 5 can enter for free and do not require a ticket.
