At the indicated time, we'll meet at the meeting point in central Budapest for a 30-minute drive to the Gödöllö Royal Palace. Upon arrival, we will explore one of Hungary's most significant royal residences.
We will take a guided tour of the palace, built in the 18th century by nobleman Antal Grassalkovich. The tour includes visits to the elegantly restored halls that highlight the grandeur of the Hungarian nobility.
During our visit, we will learn about the private life of Queen Elisabeth and Franz Joseph, Hungarian king from 1867 to 1916. The guide will share stories about hidden doors and the royal couple's relationships during the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Additionally, we will discover the connection that Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sissi, had with the palace, which was her favorite retreat from the Viennese court. Sissi received Gödöllö Palace as a gift upon her coronation as Queen of Hungary in 1867.
Finally, we will return to central Budapest, concluding the tour after a total duration of 3 to 3.5 hours.
