Next, we will visit the Jerónimos Monastery. This monument stands out as one of the finest examples of the Late Gothic Manueline-style architecture in the city and, along with the adjacent Tower of Belem, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
In addition to marveling at the tower, our guide will take you to see the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument of Discoveries), honoring the Portuguese Age of Exploration during the 15th and 16th centuries. You will also see the impressive 25 de Abril bridge, a 2,277-meter-long suspension bridge featured in the 1969 James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. We will also visit Praça do Império, a picturesque square adorned with green areas, statues, and an impressive fountain, among other highlights.
