Arenal Volcano & La Fortuna Waterfall Experience
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Arenal, where you'll board a comfortable vehicle bound for the La Fortuna Waterfall.
Reaching this stunning waterfall requires a hike, encompassing approximately eight kilometers through the lush Arenal Volcano National Park, a sanctuary of tropical biodiversity. The initial segment of our hike follows the flow of the La Fortuna River. Shortly after, we’ll transfer to a vehicle that will take us to a scenic viewpoint, letting you soak in the breathtaking beauty of the Costa Rican landscape.
The trail continues with a climb of around 500 steps that leads us to the magnificent La Fortuna Waterfall. Standing at over 70 meters high, this waterfall creates a stunning pool of crystal-clear water below, giving you the perfect opportunity to refresh yourself with a swim.
After our time at the waterfall, we will take a 20-minute stroll to the village of the Maluku indigenous community. Here, you will gain insight into their traditions, culture, and language, and have the opportunity to explore one of their Palenkes (main houses). To regain our energy, we’ll savor a meal in a local restaurant, located just a short distance from the village.
Once we’ve finished lunch, we will embark on another hike towards the Arenal Volcano, navigating through a rich forest teeming with diverse wildlife such as birds, monkeys, sloths, and coatis. Upon crossing the lake, you will arrive at one of the highlight moments of the tour, where the highest vantage point of the Arenal Volcano offers stunning photographic opportunities of both the volcano and its surrounding nature.
Our descent will lead us to the most relaxing segment of the day, taking a dip in the Arenal hot springs. Here, you can unwind in the soothing waters while enjoying a snack and drink. It’s a delightful way to conclude your journey.
We’ll return to your hotels in Arenal by approximately 7 pm.
