This journey begins at the specified time in front of the Petruzzelli Theater, known as the largest theater in the city and one of the most significant in all of Italy. After a short introduction, we will set forth into the captivating historic core of the area.
Once introductions conclude, our first destination will be Piazza del Ferrarese, also referred to as Plaza de Armas. Continuing onward, we’ll visit another vital square in the capital of Apulia, Piazza Mercantile, which serves as the entrance to Bari’s historic quarter, Bari Vecchia. Here, we'll closely examine the impressive Column of Justice.
Next, we will make our way to the Basilica of Saint Nicholas. Is there a connection between this figure and Santa Claus? As we wander through the streets of the old town, we will arrive at the Cathedral of Saint Sabinus, recognized as the oldest church in Bari. The exploration will reveal its stunning white façade and unveil some of its hidden treasures.
After appreciating the grandeur of the Castle of Bari, with its formidable Norman walls, we'll stroll down Strada delle Orecchiette. Are you prepared to discover how the most traditional handmade pasta in the city is crafted?
