3-Day Tour of Isle of Skye & Highlands
Day 1: Departing from Glasgow to Isle of Skye via Lake Lomond and Glencoe
The journey begins as we leave our meeting point in Glasgow, heading northwest to our first destination: the scenic village of Luss, nestled on the shores of Loch Lomond.
Next, we will travel northward through Tyndrum, showcasing the breathtaking landscapes of Rannoch Moor. Our path will lead us to the stunning Glen Coe Valley, renowned for its dramatic scenery and historical significance, notably the tragic Macdonald Clan massacre of 1692.
We will then make a stop in Fort William for lunch, where you’ll have the chance to capture photos of the majestic Ben Nevis, the tallest peak in Britain. Afterward, we'll marvel at Glen Garry and the awe-inspiring Five Sisters of Kintail mountain range.
The day concludes in the lovely village of Portree on the Isle of Skye, where we will check into our accommodation.
Day 2: Exploring the Isle of Skye (Cuillin Mountains – Dunvegan – Kilt Rock)
Following breakfast, we will set off from Portree to explore the capital of the Isle of Skye. You have the option to visit Dunvegan Castle, take a trip to Uig, or pay respects at Flora MacDonald’s grave. Additionally, you'll see the unique Black Houses, which are traditional Highland dwellings.
Our adventure continues to Duntulm Castle, a 15th-century ruin that provides a picturesque backdrop. Here, you can photograph Kilt Rock, famed for its resemblance to traditional Scottish clothing, and enjoy a stroll up to Lealt Falls, one of Scotland’s most stunning waterfalls.
The day will wrap up with a chance to visit Old Man of Storr before we make our way back to Portree.
Day 3: Eilean Donan – Loch Ness – Inverness – Pitlochry - Returning to Glasgow
As we head back towards Edinburgh, we will pass the iconic 13th-century Eilean Donan Castle, recognized from the movie ‘Highlander’. Our next stop will be the charming village of Fort Augustus, where we will enjoy lunch with picturesque views of Loch Ness. Keep an eye out for the legendary creature!
The journey on the Isle of Skye & Highlands Tour will continue south across Laggan and through the majestic Grampian mountains. Our final stop will be the Victorian town of Pitlochry for refreshments before concluding the tour in Edinburgh. Your guide will assist you to the Edinburgh Waverley railway station for a swift 50-minute train journey back to Glasgow.
