Experience thestunning Andean scenery of Argentina through this exclusive private excursion to the Los Manantiales refuge. Throughout the journey, there will be ample opportunities to appreciate the diverse flora and fauna of the region.
Private Excursion to Los Manantiales Refuge
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Barreal at 10 am. From there, we will embark on a thrilling ride in an all-terrain jeep towards the base of the imposing Andean mountains that form the border between Argentina and Chile.
Our first destination will be the mountain pass traversed by General José de San Martín. This significant moment, occurring on January 17, 1817, initiated the campaign aimed at securing the independence of Peru, Chile, and Argentina. After discovering this historical site, we will progress through Las Hornillas.
Our journey in the 4x4 will take us through rivers, over mountain passes, and along rugged terrain. Finally, we will reach Los Manantiales, located at an elevation of 11,000 feet. This exceptional vantage point offers breathtaking views of the mountain range, leaving an unforgettable impression on all visitors.
While at Los Manantiales, we will savor a delightful picada de campo as we take in the spectacular landscape. After lunch, we will commence our return trip. During the ride back, there may be chances to observe some fascinating local wildlife, such as wild horses and condors soaring in the sky.
On our way back, we will pause for a light snack, and you can expect to be returned to your hotel by 6 pm.
