Are you ready to explore two of the lesser-known treasures of Kotor Bay? Join us on this delightful boat excursion that takes you to the island of Our Lady of the Rocks and the picturesque village of Perast.
Boat Tour to Perast & Our Lady of the Rocks
We will convene at the port of Kotor, specifically at Park Slobode No. 1, for the designated departure time. From here, we’ll embark on a scenic journey across the clear waters of Montenegro.
As we navigate the coastline, keep an eye out for the quaint villages that dot the shores of the Adriatic Sea, including Orahovac and Dobrota.
Our first stop will be the island of Our Lady of the Rocks, an intriguing man-made islet adorned with a Byzantine sanctuary. We will delve into the fascinating history of this site and uncover the meaning behind the term felsenwerfens—a revelation that awaits us upon arrival!
Next, we’ll set sail for Perast, a delightful fishing village rich in charm. Once we dock, you’ll have about thirty minutes to explore some of its notable religious landmarks, including the historical Church of St. George, which has roots dating back to the 12th century on an islet close to the shore. Additionally, we’ll visit the Church of Sveti Nikola, a stunning structure completed between the 15th and 17th centuries—truly a masterpiece of architecture. This small village, home to only 400 inhabitants, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
At the conclusion of our adventure, we’ll reboard the boat for our return to the port of Kotor, marking the end of our 1.5-hour maritime journey.
